In the picturesque village of Blisworth, Astill Planning and the Architecture team helped deliver the conversion of a derelict listed building (formerly known as the Sun Moon & Stars) into six flats, two new maisonettes and a new house.
The site and buildings are historically linked to the canal and are part of the Grand Union Canal Conservation area .
Working closely with the planning authority, the building was returned to its 18th Century former glory, keeping many of the original features including sash windows, timber work, roof beams and doors.
Ecology of the existing fabric was considered and bat roosts were incorporated within the design, including a light sampling window.
